Homeopathy is a very individualized medicine, therefore your homeopath needs to know a lot about you. An initial intake usually takes 1-2 hours. You will be asked all kinds of questions about you, your health, your personal history, as much as you feel comfortable sharing.
After the intake, your homeopath will study everything you have told them, and carefully select the best suited remedy.
You will be given specific instructions on how to take your remedy. Please follow them to the best of your ability. It is best to take a remedy on a day that is relatively calm. It is often recommended to avoid mint and camphor products in the time period you are taking a new remedy, sometimes those substances can interfere with a efficacy of the remedy.
Unlike pharmaceutical drugs, homeopathy does not merely relieve symptoms. It goes deeper to heal the imbalance causing the symptoms. This deep process can take time. Your body's initial response to a remedy can be immediate, or not for some time. There can be a temporary increase in symptoms, changes in sleep, mood, energy levels, even a reappearance of past symptoms. This is a all a sign that your remedy is having a deep effect on your health. While this can seem unfamiliar, it is important to let this process unfold without interference.
Your homeopath will assess if the remedy is working correctly by your body's reaction. It is very helpful if you can record any changes you notice. Find an easy way to record any observations, like in your planner, a note pad, in your phone. This information is so helpful
Often your homeopath will want to have a quick check in about 5 days after taking the remedy. A full followup and assessment of the remedies actions is usually done about 1 month after taking the remedy. Always reach out to your homeopath with any questions or concerns.
